20-Year-Old Ghanaian-British Student Arrested with 36 Parcels of Cannabis at Lagos Airport

Nigerian anti-narcotics agents have arrested a 20-year-old Ghanaian-British university student for attempting to smuggle 36 parcels of cannabis, weighing 19.40kg, at the E-Arrival Hall of Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos.

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) confirmed that Parker Darren Hazekia Osei, a Computer Science student at the University of East London, was arrested on April 3, 2025, upon arrival on Ethiopian Airlines flight ET897 from Bangkok.

During a routine screening, officers discovered the parcels in his luggage. He is now under investigation for international drug trafficking.
